considerations
When beginning the commissioning process, it's important to consider the size and shape of the artwork you would like. Where you intend to display the piece can influence this decision - will it be a bold focal point on a feature wall, or a subtle, elegant accent on a side table?
The format of your chosen image can also help determine the ideal dimensions for your artwork. Vicky is always happy to offer guidance on the most suitable size and shape, based on your space and the reference photos you provide - without any obligation.
A clear, high-quality reference photo is essential, particularly for pet portraits, Natural light (avoiding direct sunlight) works best, ideally outdoors or near a window.
To help capture the true character of your pet, consider their pose and expression. The eyes are especially important - they convey personality and emotion, and can truly make or break a portrait.
Remember the better the reference photo, the better the final artwork Vicky can create for you.
Even if your beloved pet is no longer with you, Vicky can sensitively use any photographs you may have to create a lasting tribute through her skill and experience.
